Everyone should be familiar with stone mountain carving, so I won`t introduce it here, but it is easy to cause losses on its surface. What I want to talk about below are some causes and solutions.
1. Welding arc strike marks: When welders strike arcs on the metal surface carved in Shishan, it will cause rough surface defects. The protective film is damaged, leaving a potential source of corrosion. The welder should start the arc on the already welded bead or on the side of the welded joint. The pilot arc trace is then melted into the weld.
2. Rust spots: Sometimes rust can be seen on stainless steel products or equipment before or during the production of stone mountain carving, which indicates that the surface is seriously polluted. Rust must be removed before equipment is put into service, and thoroughly cleaned surfaces should be inspected by iron test and/or water test.
3. Welding defects: welding defects such as: undercut, incomplete penetration, dense pores and cracks not only reduce the firmness of the joint, but also become a corrosion source of crevice corrosion. They also entrain solid particles during cleaning operations to improve this result. These defects can be repaired by re-welding or re-welding after grinding.
4. Scratches: In order to prevent process lubricants or products and/or dirt from accumulating, scratches and other rough surfaces must be mechanically cleaned (such as dry sandblasting, glass beads for fire protection package abrasives).
5. Oil and grease: organic substances such as: oil, grease and even fingerprints will become corrosion sources of localized corrosion. Since these substances act as barriers, they interfere with chemical and electrochemical cleaning and must be removed thoroughly.
6. Paint, chalk, and markers: The effects of these contaminants are similar to those of oil and grease. It is recommended to wash with a clean brush and clean water or alkaline detergent, and you can also use high-pressure water or steam to rinse.
7. Dust: The production of Shishan Sculpture Company is often carried out in dusty places, and there is often a lot of dust in the air, which constantly falls on the surface of the equipment. They can be removed with water or alkaline solutions. However, the sticky grime organic bentonite requires high pressure water or steam to clean.
